Allan Lara, M.D.

Allan Lara, M.D., is a board-certified pediatric physical medicine and rehabilitation specialist in UT Health Austin Pediatric Neurosciences at Dell Children's. He specializes in treating children with congenital or acquired physical disabilities. Lara earned his medical degree from UT Health San Antonio. He completed both an internship and residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at University Hospital and Children's Hospital of San Antonio through UT Health San Antonio and a fellowship in pediatric rehabilitation medicine at Texas Children's Hospital through Baylor College of Medicine.

Lara's clinical interests include rehabilitation for neuromuscular disorders, cerebral palsy, brachial plexus injuries, spasticity management and electrodiagnostics. He collaborates closely with families and a multidisciplinary team to help each child reach their fullest potential. He is dedicated to ensuring that every child, regardless of disability or circumstances, has the opportunity to experience a life filled with joy and play.
