Bonnie M. Scott, Ph.D., is a clinical neuropsychologist and assistant professor with the Department of Neurology at The University of Texas at Austin Dell Medical School and UT Health Austin’s Comprehensive Memory Center in the Mulva Clinic for the Neurosciences. Scott specializes in the assessment of adults with age-related neurocognitive disorders and other neuropsychiatric conditions.
Scott earned her doctorate in clinical and health psychology with major areas of study including clinical and translational science as well as neuropsychology, neurorehabilitation and clinical neuroscience from the University of Florida. She completed an internship in clinical psychology with an emphasis in clinical neuropsychology at the South Texas Veterans Health Care System, and a postdoctoral fellowship in clinical neuropsychology at Dell Medical School at The University of Texas at Austin.
Scott is interested in a broad range of research topics pertaining to the cognitive, emotional and motivational changes associated with both healthy aging and dementia. As the director of the Motivational Neuroscience Lab, Scott’s main line of inquiry aims to advance the understanding of the mechanisms underlying motivated, goal-directed behaviors to help prioritize potential therapeutic targets and develop new approaches to enhancing patient care through the integration of translational science and clinical practice. She also has a special interest in improving the early detection and treatment of neurocognitive disorders in health disparity populations through community outreach and cross-cultural validation of psychometric tools.
