Jared F. Benge, PhD, ABPP, is a board-certified clinical neuropsychologist in UT Medicine's Comprehensive Memory Center. He specializes in the assessment of Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders, dementia, and cognitive impairment in movement disorders. Additionally, Dr. Benge is an associate professor for the Dell Medical School Department of Neurology at The University of Texas at Austin.
Dr. Benge earned his doctorate in clinical psychology with a major area of study in neuropsychology from the University of Houston. He completed both an internship in clinical psychology and a fellowship in clinical neuropsychology at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center.
Dr. Benge has authored 60 publications and presented at numerous national and international conferences. His research focuses on technology in cognitive impairment, early detection of cognitive decline, and understanding real-world functioning in older adults. His work has been supported by the National Institute of Aging, Parkinson's Foundation, and Alzheimer's Association. He is also a clinical educator, who teaches clinical skills and mentors research in students across a variety of disciplines.
