Biography

Navid Valizadeh, MB, BCh, is a neurologist in UT Medicine's Multiple Sclerosis and Neuroimmunology Center. A trained neurointensivist, he specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of life-threatening diseases of the nervous system, including brain and spinal cord trauma, subarachnoid hemorrhage, stroke, and severe infectious and inflammatory conditions. Additionally, Dr. Valizadeh is an assistant professor and serves as the Associate Program Director of the Neurology Residency in the Department of Neurology at Dell Medical School, The University of Texas at Austin.

Dr. Valizadeh earned his medical degree from the University of Galway in Ireland and his masters in clinical neurology from University College London in the UK. He completed a residency in neurology at the University of Massachusetts Memorial Medical Center and a fellowship in neurocritical care at Massachusetts General Hospital/Brigham and Women's Hospital.

Dr. Valizadeh's clinical interests include autoimmune encephalitis, vasculitis, and other neuro-inflammatory diseases. He is also a member of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland.
